About the position

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Analyst for the Institute of Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research. The Research Analyst is an important member of the data analytic team, providing highly technical data management and analytic support for ongoing studies. This position offers opportunities to work in a collegial environment, supporting various innovative and multidisciplinary studies through the preparation and conduct of research using large databases and survey data. The Research Analyst will utilize their experience and competence in statistical software to manage and analyze large datasets and survey data, producing data summaries, tables, and figures. Key responsibilities include contributing to scientific writing, which encompasses the development of statistical analysis plans, scientific reports, and drafting methods and results for abstracts and manuscripts. The role requires a strong foundation in research principles and practices, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team. The Research Analyst will be expected to engage in various aspects of research, from data collection to analysis, ensuring that the findings are accurately represented and communicated to stakeholders. This full-time position is classified as exempt and requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to advancing health care policy and research, contributing to impactful studies that inform health care practices and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical data management and analytic support for ongoing studies.
  • Contribute to scientific writing, including statistical analysis plans and scientific reports.
  • Draft methods and results for abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Manage and analyze large datasets and survey data using statistical software.
  • Produce data summaries, tables, and figures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field or discipline, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant research experience working with data.
  • Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related scientific field is preferred.
  • Experience in management and analysis of healthcare claims or electronic health records data for health services research or pharmacoepidemiology research is highly desirable.
  • Experience managing data projects in a research environment with diverse skill sets is preferred.
