About The Position

We are looking for a highly-skilled scientist-demonstrating a self-reliant approach and proficient in research-to join our team as a senior research and development scientist focused on method development. As part of our in-house team, you will develop, optimize, and validate testing methods for new and existing ingredients and finished products. In this position, you will manage development, optimization, and validation of lab testing procedure. It is expected that you will meet and collaborate regularly with other team members to present and discuss any novel method development and fully document innovative methodologies related to USANA's R&D and QC research efforts. In addition, you will act as an advisor and subject matter expert for out-of-specification.

Requirements

• MS in chemistry or related field
• Five years of experience in a regulated laboratory environment
• Mastery knowledge in multiple analytical methodologies and lab instrumentation
• In-depth experience of regulatory/pharmacopeia requirements for method development, optimization, and validation

Nice To Haves

• Ph.D. preferred
• Method development experience with ICP, GC, HPLC, and MS

Responsibilities

• Train and supervise R&D analysts on instrumentation and methodologies
• Run experiments and analyses
• Supervise the transfer of analytical test methods from R&D to QC laboratory
• Perform advanced problem solving of analytical processes and methods
• Provide summary analysis details to research team
