The Idaho Department of Labor is seeking a Research Analyst, Principal, to join its Research and Analysis team. This role is pivotal in supporting the data needs of the department and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will manage various labor market research projects and studies, overseeing the entire process from inception to analysis. This includes developing a comprehensive scope of work that outlines the budget, research goals, objectives, and clearly defined research questions. The role also involves survey design, data collection, analysis, and reporting, ensuring that the research aligns with the State Workforce Development Plan and meets federal reporting requirements for workforce program participant performance and evaluation. In addition to managing research projects, the Research Analyst will be responsible for conducting labor market analysis and disseminating labor market information to job seekers, researchers, and economic development professionals. This includes creating visual dashboards and online products to assist local offices in providing valuable information to job seekers, enabling them to make informed career decisions. The position also entails data support for Unemployment Insurance reporting, including evaluating Re-Employment Assessments conducted by local offices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical background with experience in statistics, allowing them to develop and lead complex research projects. They will analyze large datasets, identify patterns and trends, and create data visualization dashboards and reports tailored to customer needs. Effective communication of findings through various means, including charts, graphs, and descriptive statistics, is essential for this role. Additionally, the Research Analyst will support the development and maintenance of the U.S. Workforce Information Database and other business intelligence tools.
