The Part-Time Research Assistant position at the University of Miami is a vital role within the AMP-IT-UP reading program team, which is dedicated to addressing reading challenges faced by middle school students, particularly those with or at risk for reading disabilities. This hourly position is set to commence on March 1, 2024, and will continue until December 30, 2024. The pay for this role is $18.00 per hour, with the number of hours being intermittent and subject to change on a weekly basis based on the needs of the schools involved in the program. As a key team member, the Research Assistant will participate in training sessions aimed at achieving a high level of interrater compliance (95%) in the implementation of standardized assessments. The role involves directly administering these assessments to middle school students, coordinating assessment schedules, and representing the program at various meetings and community events. The Research Assistant will also be responsible for ensuring that all data collection protocols are followed meticulously and for organizing timely and accurate data reporting using program data systems, such as Excel. In addition to these responsibilities, the Research Assistant will be required to travel to different schools to conduct assessments, provide weekly updates on program and assessment progress to their supervisor, and attend program meetings. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as the role may require working during mornings, afternoons, evenings, and occasionally on Saturdays. Other duties may be assigned as needed to support the program's objectives.
