The University of Florida (UF) is initiating a strategic campus-wide initiative to recruit clusters of faculty members with expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI). As part of this initiative, the Genetics Institute (UFGI), in collaboration with the UF College of Pharmacy, is seeking qualified applicants for a non-tenure track faculty position. This role will focus on applying chemical genomic and medicinal chemistry methodologies to nuclear hormone receptors and other target classes, utilizing AI and structure-based drug design. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the teaching efforts within the College of Pharmacy's PharmD/PhD curriculum. This position will be filled at either the Assistant or Associate faculty level within the UFGI. The UFGI aims to promote excellence in genetics and genomics at UF by fostering community, collaboration, and intellectual exchange among researchers across diverse taxonomic systems. The institute supports the recruitment and retention of outstanding faculty, enhances graduate education in genetics and genomics, and strengthens the ability of UF researchers to compete for multidisciplinary research grants. In 2021, the Genetics Institute welcomed five new faculty members from three different colleges, and its faculty now comprises 195 members from seven colleges and 51 academic departments. In the 2020/2021 period, UFGI investigators secured over $92 million in sponsored research support, filed 69 US patents, and published 807 scholarly articles in prestigious journals such as Nature and Science. The University of Florida is committed to diversity and inclusion, inviting applications from all qualified individuals, including minorities, women, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. The institution adheres to non-discrimination policies in all employment aspects, including recruitment, hiring, promotions, and training. Candidates requiring accommodations due to disabilities are encouraged to reach out for assistance during the application process.
