About the position

The Research Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting faculty and learner research projects within the Center for Health Equity and the Department of Family Medicine. This position involves managing multiple ongoing research projects, contributing to research design, and assisting with various administrative tasks to enhance research infrastructure and capacity building activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty and learners with research projects and support research infrastructure activities.
• Serve as the primary project manager for multiple ongoing research projects.
• Contribute to research design, IRB applications, data analysis, and dissemination of study results.
• Support the Center for Health Equity Advisory Committee and subcommittees with scheduling, event planning, and report preparation.
• Assist the center director and grant-related Principal Investigators with administrative tasks.
• Coordinate research activities, including health-services and medical education research.
• Manage inventory of research supplies and coordinate invoices and payments with administrative offices.
• Prepare grant proposals and supporting documentation for research funding agencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in health or science-related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of research experience as a student or in research administration.
• Strong analytical background with excellent communication, writing, and editing skills.
• Knowledge of grants.gov, REDCap, SPSS, Endnotes, Word, and Excel.
• Familiarity with research methods, human subjects protection, and NIH funding guidelines.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Research Administration designation is helpful.
• Experience with Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) training.
