About the position

The University of Cincinnati is seeking a Full-Time Research Assistant for the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. This role involves assisting with laboratory projects and research studies, contributing independently based on professional training and experience. The position is based at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and supports research in infectious diseases, including HIV and tuberculosis.

Responsibilities

• Perform experiments utilizing standard molecular biology techniques including cell culture, PCR, flow cytometry, immunoassays, and microscopy.
• Interpret data through statistical and graphical analysis and report results.
• Assist in animal colony management and animal husbandry as needed.
• Perform general lab duties such as stocking solutions, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and managing lab inventory.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Five years of relevant work experience or specialized training in lieu of education.
