The University of Cincinnati's Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant to join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing regenerative medicine through diverse approaches. The Research Assistant will conduct experiments and meticulously document data in accordance with established research protocols. This role requires a strong commitment to scientific integrity and attention to detail, as the candidate will analyze data, assess its validity, and perform statistical and graphical data analysis when necessary. In addition to data analysis, the Research Assistant will assist in managing and caring for the laboratory's animal colonies. This includes genotyping and monitoring the physiological performance of animal models, as well as maintaining various transgenic mouse lines within the lab. The candidate will also be responsible for the preoperative and postoperative care of research animals, ensuring their well-being throughout the research process. Furthermore, the role involves managing fibroblast cell cultures, isolating cardiomyocytes, and conducting left coronary artery ligation procedures to create myocardial infarction models. The Research Assistant will apply research principles to less complex tasks and undertake additional duties as required by the department to meet its evolving needs.
