About the position

The Research Assistant for the Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies Project at Babson College plays a crucial role in supporting the Co-Principal Investigators (Co-PIs) in their efforts to promote entrepreneurship in regions where it is not yet normative. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at developing a comprehensive inventory of Babson's experiences in fostering entrepreneurship in countries that have historically faced economic challenges, including those in the former Iron Curtain and other emerging economies. The Research Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the development of protocol-specific tools that will aid in the documentation of the study, ensuring that all research activities are conducted in accordance with established policies and ethical standards. In this role, the Research Assistant will analyze data using appropriate software, summarize research findings, and prepare presentations as necessary. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, as the assistant will be tasked with collecting, recording, evaluating, updating, and storing pertinent data related to the research protocol. Additionally, the Research Assistant will conduct literature searches and reviews to support the research objectives, ensuring that all findings are well-documented and accessible. Maintaining the confidentiality of study subjects is paramount, and the assistant will be expected to comply with all relevant policies and procedures. This is a part-time, temporary position, and the hours and length of the assignment may vary based on the needs of the project. The Research Assistant will need to be adaptable and willing to take on additional responsibilities as required, demonstrating a proactive approach to their work and a commitment to achieving the project's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Co-PIs in development of protocol-specific tools to aid in study documentation
  • Analyze data using appropriate software; summarize research findings and prepare presentations as appropriate
  • Collect, record, evaluate, update, and store pertinent data in relation to protocol
  • Perform literature searches and reviews
  • Comply with established policies and maintain study subject confidentiality
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Professional oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in using relevant computer-based tools and software as required
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to set priorities
  • Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A
  • Willingness to take thoughtful risks and accept new initiatives and objectives
  • Ability to anticipate and embrace change and demonstrate flexibility in changing conditions
  • Flexibility and willingness to assume new tasks.
