About the position

GDIT's Military Health team is seeking a Research Assistant to support human subject research studies at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) and the Defense Intrepid Network (DIN) in Bethesda, MD. This role focuses on improving the lives of patients affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI) through collaborative research efforts. The Research Assistant will assist in clinical investigation projects, including recruitment, data collection, and patient scheduling, while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry for clinical investigation projects and maintain databases.
  • Recruit and screen potential study subjects.
  • Collect, organize, and enter data related to clinical investigations.
  • Schedule patients for follow-up appointments and testing.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports and summaries.
  • Maintain study-related documents and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Screen, consent, and schedule research participants for evaluations.
  • Facilitate follow-up assessments and reminders for participants.
  • Transcribe and resolve data queries in study forms.
  • Prepare documents for statistical analyses and report descriptive data.
  • Communicate regularly with the study team and assist with project improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct literature searches and obtain articles for review.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating meetings and administrative functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 6 months or more of experience supporting human subject research or clinical investigations.
  • Human Subjects training completed.
  • Ability to obtain a favorable T1 security clearance.
  • Must complete CITI/HIPAA training within 6 months of hire.

  • Prior experience within the DoD/VA systems of care preferred.
