About the position

The Research Assistant III position at PROLIM Global Corporation involves supporting the HW Devices team in conducting human subjects research for Meta - Facebook. The role focuses on the setup, implementation, and data collection for various studies, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and research guidelines. The Research Assistant will collaborate with research staff and stakeholders, assist in experimental design, and manage participant recruitment and scheduling activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist principal investigators with experiments involving human subjects.
  • Stage and set up equipment for the study, engaging with engineering and external vendors.
  • Pilot experiments, make observations, and provide feedback to optimize study procedures.
  • Assist the study project manager and external recruiting services in participant recruiting and scheduling activities.
  • Conduct the study, including screening participants, obtaining consent, and guiding them through procedures.
  • Collect and format data per study design, and create basic reports regarding the data.
  • Support research and development in data collection and tracking of participant compensation.
  • Troubleshoot prototypes used in studies and summarize literature reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree as a minimum.
  • Experience executing research with human subjects.
  • Prior experience as a research assistant or research coordinator.
  • Prior data handling experience and data analysis expertise.
  • Experience with office tools (Word, Excel, Google Docs, etc.).
  • Experience with research participant recruitment and personal data processing.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly.
  • Experience understanding and communicating technical information to non-experts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Preferred Masters or Ph.D. research experiences.
  • 2+ years' experience as a research assistant or research coordinator in a technology research environment.
  • Experience with early stage prototypes.
  • General interests in technology and human-centered design.
  • Hardware research experience preferred.
  • Knowledge or background in human perception (visual/auditory) and human behaviors.
