In addition to assessments, the role involves recruiting subjects for research studies, which may take place in various settings, including schools and homes. You will also assist in obtaining informed consent from participants, which is a critical aspect of ethical research practices. The position may require you to serve in an intervention or coaching capacity, training parents or teachers in effective strategies for child development. Responsibilities

  • Provide reliability status on various objective and subjective coding analysis measures pertaining to projects within the department.
  • Perform cognitive/social/emotional assessments with children and conduct interviews with teachers and families, including extensive psychological and educational evaluations.
  • Manage appropriate research equipment and supplies for assessments.
  • Conduct observational evaluations in schools and classrooms focusing on cognitive readiness activities using a complex live coding scheme.
  • Handle a range of data and information including transferring, verifying, entering, processing, management, and analysis.
  • Attend relevant trainings and assist in recruiting subjects (teachers, students, families, and individuals) for research studies, obtaining informed consent from potential participants.
  • Serve in an intervention or coaching role in home or school settings, training parents or teachers in effective parenting strategies, including extensive trainings and regular meetings to maintain certification and reliability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, human development, biology, or a relevant field; master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in customer service, behavioral analysis, or research experience is preferred.
  • Completion of the Certification for Protection of Human Research Subjects is required within 5 days of employment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Reliable personal transportation for travel to various project sites.
