About the position

The Research Assistant I/II/III position at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in the Koritala Lab focuses on supporting research in circadian biology and sleep disorders. The role involves performing experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the lab's research efforts while maintaining a collaborative and supportive environment for team members and trainees.

Responsibilities

  • Perform experiments and record data following established research protocols.
  • Understand scientific principles involved in the research and troubleshoot procedures as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory work and experiments.
  • Analyze data and perform statistical and graphical analysis of data.
  • Design and execute daily laboratory experiments in coordination with senior laboratory personnel.
  • Assist in training postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and junior laboratory personnel in laboratory techniques and equipment.
  • Direct undergraduate trainees in simple, well-established procedures.
  • Participate actively in laboratory meetings, presentations, and publications.
  • Contribute material for reports, publications, journal articles, and abstracts.
  • Present data orally in group presentations.
  • Research and improve current methods by evaluating and modifying techniques.
  • Serve as a resource by demonstrating competence in specific knowledge and skills.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to their growth.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment and assist in daily operations of the laboratory.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to maintain optimal protocol and assay accuracy.
  • Provide appropriate safety monitoring checks as assigned.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent for Research Assistant I.
  • High school diploma or equivalent AND 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline for Research Assistant II, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field AND 1 year of directly related experience OR Master's degree in a related field for Research Assistant III.

Nice-to-haves
