About the position

The Research Assistant I/II position in Pediatric Surgery at UTHealth Houston is a full-time role focused on supporting data management and analysis for various research projects, particularly in the context of an International Pediatric Trauma Consortium Clinical Trial. The role involves maintaining a large dataset, performing data analysis, and collaborating with clinical providers and researchers to ensure the integrity and quality of research data.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain data for multiple research projects.
• Create, support, and troubleshoot tools or software for data management.
• Develop and maintain quality controls for research databases.
• Design database queries and compile, analyze, and report statistical data for research projects.
• Interface with vendors and offsite researchers and coordinators.
• Collaborate daily with the care team, including nurses and physicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.
• Experience in data receipt and analysis.
• Knowledge of query design, report creation, and graphic representations of data.
• Experience managing complex databases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with RedCap, GraphPad Prism, or equivalent data analysis software.
