About the position

The Research Assistant II position at Loyola University Chicago involves providing essential research support for program evaluation projects within the School of Social Work. The role focuses on assisting with participant recruitment, data collection, analysis, and reporting, while also mentoring interns and collaborating on community forums to disseminate research findings. The position is grant-funded and requires a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide research support for program evaluation projects at the School of Social Work.
  • Assist in study participant recruitment and data collection through interviews, focus groups, and surveys.
  • Prepare transcripts and quantitative databases, and conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Report findings from research activities.
  • Mentor interns participating in CIRA evaluation research projects.
  • Collaborate in planning and implementing community forums to disseminate evaluation research findings.
  • Engage in efforts to secure external funding for migration-focused research.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • One to two years of related experience in research and project coordination.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and oral).
  • Self-motivated with excellent time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Completed research ethics training and maintain up-to-date certification.
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative research projects.
  • Basic research skills including analyzing qualitative data, writing analytic memos and reports, conducting literature reviews, and managing and analyzing quantitative data.
  • Project management and execution skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SPSS and other data analysis software.
  • Familiarity with community engagement and outreach strategies.
