The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is dedicated to eliminating cancer through exceptional programs that integrate patient care, research, and prevention, alongside education for students, trainees, professionals, and the public. The Research Assistant II will play a crucial role in a basic cancer immunology research program that utilizes systems-level and mechanistic tools to identify regulators of tumor immune activation and suppression. Under the guidance of the Principal Investigator and senior laboratory members, the Research Assistant II will engage in a variety of experiments, including molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis, and quantitative mass spectrometry, as well as mammalian cell culture, lentiviral production and transduction, flow cytometry, and microscopy. The role involves recording and evaluating data, operating, maintaining, and installing new laboratory equipment as necessary. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and enthusiastic individual eager to learn and develop their career while contributing to the advancement of cancer therapies. After receiving appropriate training, the Research Assistant II will have opportunities to lead research projects, present scientific literature and data in formats such as journal clubs, and present at seminars and national and international conferences.
