About the position

The Research Assistant II position at the Lee Lab, Stanford University, involves supporting innovative research projects focused on understanding the circuit mechanisms underlying behavior and neurological disorders. The role includes hands-on laboratory work with rodents, histology, and various experimental techniques, contributing to studies on conditions such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, autism, and epilepsy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with histology techniques including perfusion, tissue harvest, sectioning, staining, and microscopy.
  • Manage rodent colonies, including genotyping and breeding.
  • Conduct rodent behavioral experiments.
  • Perform stereotaxic surgery as needed.
  • Engage in plasmid amplification and transfection.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field.
  • Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
  • At least 2 years of work experience post-Bachelor's degree.
