Responsibilities

  • Prepare data collected from patients for computer entry.
  • Perform face-to-face interviews, administer measures and questionnaires in person, via mail and via telephone and conduct other research-related procedures with participants.
  • Maintain records related to the conduct of research, including photocopying forms, establishing a system for filing paper records and preparing reports for various monitoring agencies.
  • Provide data entry as needed.
  • Prepare materials for studies, such as preparing study folders, consent forms, and questionnaires.
  • Provide chart abstraction to gain information about participants, such as finding dates of death, diagnosis, pathology, etc.
  • Provide follow-up to participants in person or over the phone.
  • Assist with basic biospecimens needs, including creation of kits, freezer maintenance, pulling samples, and labeling samples.
  • Attend research meetings to monitor and discuss ongoing research activities.
  • Recruit research participants in minimal risk studies with supervision as a backup to a Research Coordinator.

Requirements

  • One year of relevant experience required with two years equivalent of undergraduate coursework OR no experience with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • In the wet lab, knowledge of sterile techniques is required.
