About the position

The Research Assistant III position involves supporting principal investigators in conducting experiments with human subjects. The role includes responsibilities such as assisting in experimental design, setting up equipment, conducting studies, and managing participant recruitment. The position is contract-based, located in Seattle, WA, and offers a pay range of $38 to $42 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Assist principal investigators with experiments involving human subjects.
  • Help with experimental design and provide feedback prior to study.
  • Stage and set up equipment for the study, engaging with various stakeholders.
  • Pilot experiments, make observations, and provide feedback to optimize study procedures.
  • Assist in participant recruiting and scheduling activities.
  • Conduct the study, including screening participants and collecting data.
  • Maintain confidentiality of participant information and data.
  • Support research and development in data collection and tracking.
  • Troubleshoot prototypes used in studies.
  • Summarize literature reviews and pull insights for research reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree as a minimum.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly.
  • Experience executing research with human subjects.
  • Prior experience as a research assistant or research coordinator.
  • Prior data handling experience and data analysis expertise.
  • Experience with office tools (Word, Excel, Google Docs, etc.).
  • Experience with research participant recruitment and personal data processing.
  • Experience in coordinating schedules across multiple teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline; preferred Master's or Ph.D. research experiences.
  • 2+ years' experience as a research assistant or research coordinator in a technology research environment.
  • Experience with early stage prototypes.
  • General interests in technology and human-centered design.
  • Hardware research experience preferred.
  • Knowledge or background in human perception and human behaviors.
