About the position

The Research Assistant position at the Objects and Knowledge Laboratory, led by Dr. Olivia Cheung at NYU Abu Dhabi, focuses on conducting experiments related to high-level vision in humans. Responsibilities

  • Conduct experiments on high-level vision, including object, face, letter, and scene recognition.
  • Utilize behavioral, fMRI, and computational methods in research.
  • Investigate the influences of experience and conceptual knowledge on visual recognition.
  • Collaborate with team members on various research projects.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Matlab, Python, or R.
  • Prior experience with fMRI, computational, or psychophysical techniques is highly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in neuroimaging techniques such as MRI, MEG, or EEG.
  • Familiarity with eyetracking methods.
