Responsibilities

• Conduct research on the role of cell adhesion molecules in heart development and disease.
• Manage the animal colony and perform genotyping and record keeping.
• Utilize molecular, cellular, and histological techniques including PCR, DNA, RNA, and protein isolation.
• Order supplies and assist in manuscript preparation.
• Attend weekly group meetings and participate in planning research protocols.
• Gather, tabulate, graph, and analyze data using statistical methodologies.
• Review relevant literature to support research efforts.
• Perform routine laboratory cleaning and maintenance functions.
• Prepare reagents and drugs for experiments.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant scientific field.
• Working knowledge of statistics and research methodology.
• Three to six months of related experience.

• Experience with computer programming for data analysis.
