About the position

The Research Assistant - Per Diem position at Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) involves conducting specialized epidemiologic surveillance and research under the supervision of a study investigator. This role is crucial for supporting research initiatives related to autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality throughout the research process.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct specialized epidemiologic surveillance and research under supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Adhere to field procedures as stipulated in the NJ Autism Study Field guide.
  • Abstract relevant medical, sociodemographic, and diagnostic information onto computerized forms.
  • Edit data, check printouts, code, and prepare data for upload to the main database.
  • Perform basic functions on the computer using Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Assist in data analysis.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant area such as Psychology, Medicine, Public Health, Education, or related field.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
