About the position

The University of Arkansas is seeking a non-tenure track Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences. This position is focused on conducting research, mentoring students, and engaging in scholarly activities. The role is designed to enhance the department's research productivity and contribute to various projects, including those funded by the National Science Foundation and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research leading to publication.
• Engage in creative and scholarly activities.
• Mentor and evaluate students on scientific research.
• Create interest and understanding among students.
• Serve on various faculty and student-oriented committees.
• Provide service on campus and in related professional organizations.
• Participate in faculty governance in the department and on campus.
• Participate in research productivity within specific National Science Foundation projects.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or a related field.
• Demonstrated research experience in host-virus evolutionary dynamics or related areas.
• Ability to mentor students in scientific research.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
