About the position
The University of Arkansas is seeking a non-tenure track Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences. Responsibilities
- Conduct research leading to publication
- Engage in creative and scholarly activities
- Mentor and evaluate students on scientific research
- Create interest and understanding among students
- Serve on various faculty and student-oriented committees
- Provide service on campus and in related professional organizations
- Participate in faculty governance in the department and on campus
- Participate in research productivity within designated projects
Requirements
- Ph.D. or terminal degree in Biology, Ecology, or a closely related field
- Five or more years of post-doctoral or professional experience in freshwater biogeochemistry and ecology
- Demonstrated research productivity including peer-reviewed publications and grant award success
Nice-to-haves
- Expertise in analytical chemistry using a rapid-flow analyzer, mass spectrometer, and other specified instruments
- Experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students resulting in peer-reviewed publications or presentations
