The University at Buffalo School of Nursing (SON) invites applications for full-time, pre-tenure track mentored Research Assistant Professor faculty positions. This role is designed for candidates who are prepared to contribute through research, teaching, and service to a diverse and inclusive community. The SON is one of five health science schools within the University and offers degrees at the BS, DNP, and PhD levels. The School is actively expanding its research enterprise and restructuring its academic programming to enhance its offerings. Researchers at the SON are engaged in generating new knowledge across various domains, including health promotion, addictions, health disparities, adolescent risk behaviors, oncology, sleep, palliative care, reproductive/maternal health, informatics, and care transitions, among others. The School welcomes additional research programs to further expand its capacity. The major responsibilities of the Research Assistant Professor include developing, building, and implementing a program of research that qualifies for a tenure-track assistant professor position, with up to three years of support. The successful candidate will also contribute to teaching nursing at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, engage in professional service within the school, university, and community, and build a network of colleagues to support a funded program of research. The SON is particularly interested in candidates who can operate effectively within a diverse community of students and faculty and who share the vision of helping all constituents reach their full potential. The School is committed to fostering an excellent and diverse community of scholars and students engaged in education, research, and service, and encourages applications from women, members of historically marginalized groups, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
