About the position

The Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a Research Assistant to contribute to various interdisciplinary research programs. As a Research Assistant, you will be involved in developing, training, and evaluating machine learning models based on transaction data, conducting empirical analyses, and collaborating closely with faculty members on research related to child welfare operations in partnership with local organizations. Responsibilities

  • Develop, train and evaluate machine learning models of transaction data
  • Conduct research on child welfare operations with local sponsor organization
  • Work closely with faculty
  • Conduct empirical analysis of data
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; PhD preferred
  • 3-5 years of research experience required
  • Expertise on text processing and time series data
  • Expertise in analytical work and child welfare operations required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Successful background check
