The Research Assistant position at Johns Hopkins University involves supporting research studies in the Division of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery. The role is integral to a research team focused on various projects, particularly biological therapies for cardiac arrhythmias. The successful candidate will engage in hands-on laboratory work, including stem cell culture and cardiac differentiation, contributing to significant advancements in pediatric cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain pluripotent stem cell culture and perform cardiac differentiation.
• Perform immunostaining and cellular imaging of cardiac derivatives from stem cells.
• Prepare histology sections for immunostaining.
• Acquire cardiac cellular electrophysiology data from cultured cardiac cells and tissue constructs.
• Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
• Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
