About the position

The Research Assistant at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) will play a vital role in supporting large-scale psychological studies, particularly those focused on clinical high-risk for psychosis. This position involves participant recruitment, conducting clinical interviews, managing research databases, and collaborating with the research team to ensure the successful execution of various research projects.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit participants for ongoing studies by developing and implementing recruitment strategies, screening potential participants for eligibility, and scheduling study sessions.
  • Conduct clinical interviews and administer standardized assessments using instruments such as SIPS, SCID-5, and K-SADS.
  • Manage research databases and data entry, ensuring data integrity and accuracy using data management software like REDCap and SPSS.
  • Report to funding bodies and assist with grant-related documentation, including preparing and submitting reports and assisting with grant applications.
  • Collaborate with the research team and participate in lab meetings to coordinate research activities and share findings.
  • Contribute to publication and presentation efforts by assisting in the preparation of manuscripts, posters, and presentations for conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Psychology or a related field.
  • One year of experience as a research assistant, or a Master's degree in Psychology or related field, or 15 graduate credits in a master's program may substitute for the experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • SIPS certification preferred.
