About the position

The Research Associate in Bioengineering at ODDITY LABS will play a crucial role in supporting research and development projects by designing, executing, and analyzing experiments. This position involves maintaining laboratory documentation, managing equipment, and contributing to a collaborative lab culture while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prepare, execute, and analyze various experiments to support R&D projects.
  • Support an environment that enables a staff of highly skilled peers to perform biological and computational experiments.
  • Help develop and standardize standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Refine and continuously evolve existing pipelines for data-driven decision-making and product validation.
  • Maintain all laboratory-related documentation, including laboratory notes and safety data sheets.
  • Manage and coordinate instrument and equipment maintenance.
  • Perform regular calibration and QA/QC checks on instrumentation and equipment.
  • Stay updated on trends in beauty and biotechnology and implement new technologies.
  • Contribute to promoting a unified office/laboratory culture through community-building activities.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for all laboratory personnel.
  • Enforce universal precautions and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Assist in laboratory ordering, inventory, regulations, and permits.

Requirements

  • B.S. or higher in Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or related major.
  • 1-2 years of industry experience in a biological laboratory setting.
  • Extensive experience (3+ years) with mammalian cell culture, particularly with primary human cells.
  • Experience with stem cells, iPSC differentiation, various culture substrates, and/or 3D models is ideal.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office software, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to scientific rigor.
  • Willingness to learn new skills as needed.
  • Independent problem solver with initiative.
  • High level of accountability and commitment to high standards.

  • Experience with advanced laboratory techniques and technologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in laboratory settings.
