About the position

The Research Associate - Carbon Analyst at EarthOptics plays a crucial role in advancing sustainable agriculture through innovative soil analysis techniques. This position involves working with advanced technologies to analyze soil samples, maintain laboratory operations, and support the Soil Science team in achieving the company's mission of enhancing soil health and agricultural productivity. The role requires collaboration with various teams and a commitment to continuous learning in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert carbon analyst using various techniques such as dry combustion, acidification, and spectroscopic methods.
  • Coordinate with teams to ensure continuous operation of elemental analyzers and manage sample exchanges.
  • Optimize elemental analysis methods to maximize throughput while maintaining quality.
  • Train and supervise a seasonal workforce during peak production periods.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment during all phases of operation.
  • Manage and curate a physical and digital Soil Library, ensuring accurate data organization and maintenance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for soil sample tracking and monitoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in physical sciences either completed or in-process.
  • 1 year of hands-on experience with elemental analysis.
  • Interest in laboratory robotics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
