About the position

The Research Associate for Geoeconomics at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) will support the Maurice R. Greenberg Center for Geoeconomic Studies in advancing discussions on U.S. foreign policy and international economic engagement. This role involves conducting research, drafting content, coordinating events, and providing administrative support to the senior fellow for geoeconomics, all aimed at enhancing understanding of economic security and its implications for U.S. policy.

Responsibilities

  • Researching economic security, investment, trade, and other issues important to U.S. foreign policy as requested by the senior fellow.
  • Drafting, editing, and proofreading articles, reports, social media, and other content.
  • Coordinating events, including preparing invitations, travel arrangements, and corresponding with speakers.
  • Providing administrative support to the fellow, including managing travel and handling correspondence.
  • Assisting with managing budgets, including preparing budgets and tracking monthly statements.
  • Assisting the fellow with social media outreach, including publishing a blog and using social media applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in international relations, economics, political science, or related field with strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including drafting, proofreading, and editing a range of formats.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Experience using Excel for data analysis.
