About the position

The Research Associate in Histology will assist in various histology experiments and data collection, focusing on the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and handling biological samples. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with laboratory experience who are detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in histology experiments and data collection.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (microtomes, cryostats, microscopes, stainers).
  • Handle and process biological samples (tissue, blood, urine).
  • Perform complex histology procedures (frozen section, FFPE) and staining (immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence).
  • Maintain lab records, reagents, and inventories.
  • Support gene therapy and RNA program study preparations.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of lab experience (microtomy/cryosectioning preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours if needed.
