Responsibilities

• Manage the aquatics that house a colony of frogs, including caring for adult frogs and rearing tadpoles to adulthood.
• Perform a variety of increasingly complex experimental protocols and procedures.
• Assist in the design of new complex or unusual protocols and techniques.
• Keep accurate and detailed records of experiments and results.
• Assist in identifying and troubleshooting unexpected results.
• Order laboratory supplies and support laboratory operations.
• Maintain lab equipment and related records, coordinating the use of lab equipment as necessary.
• Assist in the operation of specialized equipment required by the area of research.
• Prepare data for publication and/or presentation at scholarly meetings.
• Observe and comply with safety standards and procedures.
• Orient research laboratory assistants or lower-level research associates and undergraduate student researchers on day-to-day lab operations and routine procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field required.
• One (1) year of research laboratory experience required.
• Familiarity with routine laboratory procedures, experimental protocols, and overall lab organization.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently.
• Superior interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
• Ability to work across company disciplines and functional units.
• Computer application experience, including skills in Excel and Word.
• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple clerical tasks with attention to detail.
