About the position

The Research Associate II (Virology) position at Piper Clinical Solutions involves supporting a prominent research organization focused on infectious disease research. The role is centered around performing various laboratory assays and maintaining laboratory operations in a BSL2 environment, contributing to the development and characterization of recombinant proteins.

Responsibilities

• Design, generate, and characterize recombinant proteins
• Perform mammalian cell culture, transient transfections, protein expressions, protein purifications, and micro pipetting in a BSL2 laboratory setting
• Perform ELISA assays and other cell-based assays
• Collect, analyze, and summarize data using statistical software programs
• Perform laboratory maintenance such as maintaining and calibrating equipment and ordering laboratory supplies
• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks
• Create and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) or BSL-2 environment
• Experience with TCID50 and plaque assays
• Bachelor of Science in biological sciences and/or related field such as biology, chemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, etc.
