About the position

The Research Associate II position is responsible for conducting laboratory research, development, and manufacturing activities to support Ventana projects. The role requires technical expertise in designing, executing, and interpreting experiments, as well as preparing technical reports and maintaining accurate laboratory documentation. The associate will work collaboratively within a team and may act as a principal investigator for their experiments.

Responsibilities

• Designs experimental protocols with minimal supervision
• Executes laboratory experiments; makes detailed observations and analyzes data
• Prepares technical reports, summaries and quantitative analyses
• Maintains complete and accurate records
• Normally receives detailed directions on all work
• Makes suggestions to improve work processes
• Assists in reducing to practice patentable inventions
• Works on projects of moderate scope requiring analysis of identifiable factors
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
• May participate in cross functional technical team activities
• Works well in a team environment by being a productive project team member
• Trains others in areas of expertise
• Troubleshoots problems and institutes corrective action
• Prepares and presents experimental procedures and results in group and project teams
• Monitors work to ensure quality, and continuously promote Quality First Time
• Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Science - Required
• 2 years relevant job experience - Required
• Knows basic and some specialized laboratory techniques - Required
• Capable with searching scientific literature to gain information about specific topics - Required
• Skilled with use of word processing, spreadsheets, graphical and presentation software applications - Required
