About the position

Innova Solutions is seeking a motivated Research Associate II to perform spatial biology experiments aimed at understanding targets for antibody-based therapeutics, as well as addressing the expanding needs in tumor microenvironment characterization. The successful candidate will have a strong background in histology methodologies, particularly immunohistochemistry, and will be expected to work collaboratively with various researchers and investigators on multiple projects. This position is a full-time contract role with a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent position. The ideal candidate should be energetic, enthusiastic about lab work, and flexible in their approach to different research tasks. The Research Associate will be responsible for designing, executing, and interpreting experiments that focus on the spatial context of tumor and target biology, working under some guidance. They will collaborate with project leads and peers within the Core Research & Technology team to ensure that studies align with project goals and adhere to best experimental practices. Effective communication with project teams is essential to ensure that executed studies meet intended goals and that results are interpreted correctly. Additionally, the role involves routine histology lab maintenance, processing samples for downstream histological analysis, maintaining and cataloging a biospecimen repository, and utilizing a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for managing inventory and requests.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and interpret experiments aimed at understanding the spatial context of tumor and target biology with some guidance.
  • Work with project leads, direct management, and peers within Core Research & Technology to ensure studies are aligned with project goals and best experimental practices.
  • Communicate with project teams to ensure executed studies satisfy intended goals and results are interpreted appropriately.
  • Perform routine histology lab maintenance.
  • Process samples for downstream histological analysis.
  • Maintain and catalog a biospecimen repository.
  • Utilize a LIMS system for managing inventory and requests.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years' experience working in a research laboratory with a bachelor's degree in a scientific field.
  • Experience with histopathology techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional research environment.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask.
  • Quick learner with willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Excellent teamworking and communication skills, a proactive attitude, and innovative and interdisciplinary thinking towards accomplishing goals and solving issues.
