Lunar Biosciences is seeking a talented and passionate Research Associate or Scientist to join their innovative team focused on peptide and nucleic acid chemistry. This role involves developing multi-step chemical processes that will be implemented in their groundbreaking proteomics technology. Responsibilities

• Execute experimental strategies in developing proprietary polymers by adopting new chemical methods.
• Develop and optimize protocols to accommodate cross-functional processes, including automation if necessary.
• Adopt and adjust multiple timelines across diverse projects/goals in coordination with other functional progress.
• Participate and engage in multi-disciplinary team activities, committed to the expeditious identification of problems and advancing projects through the critical internal review process.

Requirements

• B.S. in organic, medicinal chemistry, or chemical engineering with 3-5 years of industry experience; alternatively, candidates with an M.S. degree and 1-3 years of industry experience, or a Ph.D. with post-doctoral experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience in synthesizing and derivatizing peptides/DNA, including solid-phase synthesis and advanced purification techniques.
• Familiarity with contemporary protein (orthogonal) conjugation, and analytical methods such as mass spectrometry, HPLC, and NMR.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in reviewing research papers and intellectual property literature in support of ongoing investigation.
