About the position

Nitto BioPharma, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery and development of innovative lipid nanoparticle delivery systems for oligonucleotide therapeutics. We are currently seeking a Research Associate in Platform Biology to join our dynamic and multi-disciplinary team. This position is ideal for a passionate and driven individual with a strong background in cell-based screening. The successful candidate will utilize a variety of in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo approaches to screen and characterize novel drug delivery systems, guiding their progression into development for preclinical and clinical use. As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for performing cell culture and conducting in vitro biological assays as part of an interdepartmental effort to screen and characterize drug delivery technologies. You will also assist with ex vivo and in vivo testing of these technologies, collecting, analyzing, documenting, and interpreting data. Effective communication of results in department and project meetings is essential, as is the efficient management and maintenance of laboratory reagents, inventory systems, technical equipment, and tools. Collaboration with teams across multiple areas of expertise will be a key aspect of this role, as you contribute to the development, execution, and technology transfer of assay development to other internal and external teammates.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cell culture and in vitro biological assays as part of an interdepartmental effort to screen and characterize drug delivery technologies.
  • Assist with ex vivo and in vivo testing of drug delivery technologies.
  • Collect, analyze, document, and interpret data.
  • Communicate results succinctly in department/project meetings.
  • Efficiently manage and maintain laboratory reagents, inventory systems, technical equipment, and tools.
  • Work closely with teams across multiple areas of expertise.
  • Contribute to the development, execution, and technology transfer of assay development to other internal and external teammates.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Biology/Chemistry or related discipline with proficiency and hands-on experience in cell culture and sterile technique.
  • Experience with plate-based assays using immortalized and primary cells.
  • Experience working with DNA/RNA/oligos/siRNA, including extractions from cells and tissues, and various PCR methods (endpoint, qRT-PCR, ddPCR, etc.).
  • Organized and disciplined record keeping.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
  • Ability to maintain motivation, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines in a rapidly evolving project.
