The Department of Biostatistics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is seeking a PhD-level Research Associate or Research Scientist statistician to join the Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR). This position is focused on the ACTG: Advancing Clinical Therapeutics Globally for HIV/AIDS and Other Infections, which is a large NIH-funded collaborative clinical trials network. The network has an international research agenda aimed at the treatment and cure of HIV infection and associated co-morbidities, including end organ diseases, tuberculosis, and viral hepatitis. The successful candidate will collaborate with over 100 statisticians, epidemiologists, and research staff on the design, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of clinical trials ranging from Phase I to Phase IV, as well as diagnostic studies and observational studies. The role requires the ability to work as part of collaborative teams, providing statistical expertise and leading statistical work on studies. The candidate will also be expected to mentor and supervise other staff, and develop a self-initiated research agenda related to HIV and infectious diseases. This position offers an opportunity to take a leadership role in a new generation of statistician-trialists, and may include statistical methods research for candidates with the appropriate background. The position is a term appointment that is renewable upon mutual consent, and it operates within a hybrid work environment that combines on-campus and remote work.
