About the position

The Research Associate position at the George Washington School of Nursing (GW Nursing) is focused on supporting the ExPAND project, which aims to enhance shared decision-making and patient choice for individuals with kidney failure. This role involves data management, communication with clinical sites, and contributing to the overall success of a national five-year research initiative funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).

Responsibilities

  • Collect research data from clinical sites, communicating frequently with clinical site personnel to resolve data collection and management issues.
  • Audit data for completeness and accuracy and work with site personnel to correct errors.
  • Maintain and enhance data collection tools and training materials.
  • Produce interim data reports, including descriptive statistical analyses (frequencies, proportions, means).
  • Help create and maintain software for data monitoring and reporting, preferably in R programming language.
  • Provide administrative and technical support for the project as needed.
  • Provide administrative and technical support for collaborative calls and webinars.
  • Aid in planning project meetings.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related discipline with 1 year of experience.
  • Experience with research data collection and management.
  • Experience utilizing data management and analysis software, preferably with REDCap and R programming language.
  • Strong communication skills, especially with patients, clinicians, and researchers.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience in public health research with knowledge and/or interest in kidney-supportive care education and implementation projects.
