We are searching for a qualified Research Associate who will report to and work under the general supervision of a senior level scientist. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail and be able to critically analyze data and communicate results to the team and must bring a can-do attitude and sense of purpose and urgency to the job.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with incoming material QC tests and release materials for RND use.
  • Assist in the transfer of methods, procedures, work instructions, specifications and BOMs.
  • Assist with establishing performance metrics of raw materials.
  • Provide R D with materials that have passed developed QC tests for R D development.
  • Maintain revision control of critical documents such as QC methods, test reports, BOMS, SOPs and Batch Records and provide these materials to manufacturing team when appropriate.
  • Provide hands-on lab support to the team to reach department goals.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to be shared with the team.
  • Develop procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Help generate controlled documents including specifications, batch records, SOPs and BOMs.

Requirements

  • B.S. in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field and 2+ years of hands-on molecular biology experience in an industrial setting.
  • Basic knowledge around key areas including nucleic acid purification and characterization, NGS, oligo-dye conjugation.
  • Basic knowledge in standard molecular biology techniques such as nucleic acid amplification and purification (RNA/DNA), qPCR, gel electrophoresis, FiSH and DNA sequencing or similar molecular biology techniques.
  • Must be able to pipet with accuracy and precision.
  • Must be able to follow Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail. Good communication (oral and written) and collaboration skills.
  • Basic experience with troubleshooting and optimization of molecular biology assays including reagent formulation.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • A willingness to learn new techniques and methods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE) and various laboratory instruments such as Thermal Cyclers, gel-based equipment, Nanodrop, Plate readers, and Qubit.
