About the position

The Research Associate position at GigaGen, a subsidiary of Grifols, involves supporting the development of next-generation recombinant antibody therapeutics. This role provides exposure to various stages of drug development, from early research to manufacturing, and offers opportunities to learn new methods, design experiments, and present findings. The position is integral to advancing the company's diverse antibody therapeutics pipeline, contributing to innovative healthcare solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct general molecular biology assays and techniques
• Design and clone DNA constructs
• Work with Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae
• Perform cell sorting using flow cytometry
• Conduct Sanger and NextGen Sequencing
• Utilize protein expression and qualitative/quantitative analysis methods
• Process primary cell samples
• Engage in cell culture and functional assays
• Analyze data and present results at internal meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related discipline
• 1+ year of experience in a relevant field
• Experience with techniques such as PCR, RT-qPCR, nucleic acid extractions, flow cytometry, mammalian cell culture, recombinant protein expression, ELISA, high-throughput systems, DNA sequencing, and surface display platforms
• Strong scientific understanding with critical thinking and quantitative skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Effective communication skills within and across teams
