About the position

The Research Associate position at Yale University focuses on conducting research within established study protocols while adhering to human subjects regulations. The role involves developing criteria for study subject admission, evaluating project feasibility, managing multi-site studies, and performing statistical analyses of data. The Research Associate will collaborate with principal investigators and contribute to scientific protocols, ensuring accurate data collection and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out research within the scope of the established study protocol.
  • Develops criteria for admission of study subjects based on project goals.
  • Determines potential sources of funding and prospective partnerships.
  • Evaluates feasibility of accepting potential projects through analysis of staffing needs and resource requirements.
  • Negotiates contracts and/or changes with funders.
  • Develops original HIC/IRB submissions and collaborates on major revisions.
  • Develops forms, questionnaires, and writes procedures manuals for data collection.
  • Responsible for documentation and transmission of study data.
  • Works independently to manage and organize multi-site studies.
  • Performs descriptive and multivariate statistical analyses of data.
  • Designs and implements quality control measures for data collection.
  • Contributes original thought to written reports and manuscripts.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a scientific discipline and one year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to engage multiple faculty members for research items and interact with students.
  • Proven experience in utilizing formal research tools, search engines, databases, and statistical tools.
  • Ability to ask and answer clinically relevant questions to advance research fields.
  • Ability to create research leading to presentations at national meetings and peer-reviewed publications.
