About the position

The Molecular Biologist will be an integral part of the research team, focusing on investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying biological processes. This role involves utilizing advanced techniques in molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry to contribute to projects that enhance the understanding of cellular functions, disease mechanisms, and therapeutic strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and design experiments to study molecular mechanisms of gene expression, protein function, and cellular processes.
  • Perform a variety of molecular biology techniques, including PCR, RT-PCR, cloning, restriction enzyme digestion, gel electrophoresis, RNA/DNA extraction, and qPCR.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, utilizing statistical tools and bioinformatics software.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of experiments, results, and methodologies in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, sharing ideas and contributing to project discussions.
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication and present research findings at meetings and conferences.
  • Identify and resolve experimental challenges, optimizing protocols as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior staff and students in laboratory techniques and research methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a molecular biology laboratory, with hands-on expertise in relevant techniques.
  • Proficient in molecular cloning, gene expression analysis, sequencing technologies, and bioinformatics tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changing research needs.
