About the position

The Research Billing Analyst at the University of Kentucky's Markey Cancer Center Clinical Research Organization is responsible for reviewing and adjudicating clinical trial research billing for patients enrolled in clinical trials. This role involves ensuring that research services are billed correctly to the appropriate payers, developing expertise in OnCore and EPIC software for compliant billing, and maintaining patient trial reimbursements. The position may allow for remote work with occasional campus visits for meetings and training.

Responsibilities

• Review and adjudicate clinical trial research billing for enrolled patients.
• Ensure research services are billed to the appropriate payer by reviewing coverage analysis and billing grids.
• Develop knowledge of OnCore and EPIC software for clinical research functionality.
• Provide ongoing summaries of findings to identify workflow and system issues.
• Facilitate and maintain patient trial reimbursement and invoicing for pharmaceutical sponsors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 1 year of experience in medical billing or clinical trials.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, OnCore, EPIC, and SAP.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of direct experience in medical billing or comparable competency in charge documentation or administration.
• Clinical trial billing experience preferred.
• Prior claims review experience preferred.
