Responsibilities

• Conduct research experiments in support of the laboratory.
• Lead a research team in the conception and formulation of product research ideas and approaches.
• Advise on policy issues central to the agency's mission in the area of Biology.
• Utilize biological knowledge and experience to inform scientific and regulatory decisions regarding biological products.
• Plan, develop, and implement experiments and protocols under study.
• Collect data and scientific information to support research, decisions, regulatory programs, and policies.
• Maintain and prepare scientific information.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
• Specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 for GS-12 applicants, including conducting research related to biological products and participating in laboratory procedures.
• Specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 for GS-13 applicants, including planning and conducting research and overseeing laboratory procedures.
