About the position

The Research Business Analyst serves as a back office assistant to the RBC Pod at Nationwide Children's Hospital, focusing on the management of financial aspects of the research portfolio. This entry-level position is designed for individuals looking to develop their professional knowledge in research administration and financial management, contributing to the hospital's mission of improving children's lives through innovative care and groundbreaking research.

Responsibilities

• Assist each member of the RBC Pod with managing financial aspects of the research portfolio.
• Help the Pre Award RBC complete all proposal components, including collecting required sub-site documentation.
• Assist the Post Award RBC in obtaining updated sub-site documentation and submitting agreement requests.
• Attend regular financial meetings with the Principal Investigator and other RBC members.
• Provide financial guidance and creative problem solving for Principal Investigators alongside the Pre- and Post Award RBC and T&E RBC.
• Develop professional knowledge through self-study, research, and participation in professional development activities.
• Shadow all members of the RBC Pod to learn best practices.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Experience in Microsoft Excel and basic financial management.
• No prior experience required, but experience in Research Administration or Accounting is preferred.
