About the position

Windwalker Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Coordinator/Analyst to support a government contract with the National Museum of the Marine Corp (NMMC). This part-time, hybrid position involves coordinating data collection and conducting in-depth research and analysis for various studies at the museum. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing data collection efforts and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data to inform museum experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate data collection teams at the NMMC.
  • Keep track of and manage data collection.
  • Collect data from demographically diverse museum visitors.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Evaluation Specialist and Sr. Statistician to establish a plan for data collection, management, and analysis.
  • Meet weekly with the Sr. Evaluation Specialist to discuss progress on data collection, management, and analysis.
  • Analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data using various research methods (e.g., surveys, observations, focus groups).
  • Report findings in verbal and written communication with Sr. Evaluation Specialist and Sr. Statistician.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in museum studies, sociology, psychology, anthropology, statistics, data science, or a related field.
  • Strong research skills, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Prior experience collecting survey and observation data from diverse participants.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS) and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the museum field is a plus.
