About the position

The Research Coordinator position is a full-time role based in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Endeavor Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL. This position is integral to the Breastfeeding Equity Study, which involves a randomized control trial of breastfeeding peer counseling (BPC) at Endeavor Highland Park Hospital. The role requires the coordinator to assist in the development of study documents and manage submissions and reporting to the Institutional Review Board. The coordinator will work closely with a Research Assistant and a multi-site study team to ensure the smooth operation of daily research activities. The Research Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating regular meetings and communications with clinical team members at Highland Park Hospital and various prenatal recruitment sites. A significant part of the role involves recruiting patients during their pregnancy from clinical sites, maintaining ongoing communication with both patients and research team members across multiple sites, and conducting study assessments with research participants. The coordinator will also manage patient tracking and study activities within a study database, enter data into electronic databases, manipulate the resulting data, and present it in various formats, including creating reports on study progress. Additionally, the coordinator will be tasked with maintaining organized and detailed records of all study activities, managing study supplies, and performing scientific literature searches as required. This position is essential for ensuring the integrity and success of the research study, contributing to the advancement of breastfeeding support initiatives.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong people skills required.
  • Experience in a research environment required.
  • Some data management experience required.
  • Bilingual Spanish-English speaking strongly preferred.
