About the position

The Research Coordinator I position at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health involves providing day-to-day support and administrative project management for research projects of considerable scope and complexity. The role requires close collaboration with the project Principal Investigator (PI) and investigators to ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for both remote and in-office work, and focuses on translating research into practice to improve community health outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day support and project management coordination for research projects.
  • Assists in the preparation of budgets, progress reports, and grant proposals for submission to both private foundations and governmental agencies.
  • Assists with event scheduling, organization, coordination, and facilitation, including attending planning meetings to help prepare event agendas and logistics.
  • Provides administrative support for training programs and other Institute initiatives, including seminars, workshops, and courses.
  • Maintains confidential records of collected data, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Prepares draft reports and communications for the departmental program/division leadership.
  • Interacts with representatives from state, federal, and private agencies regarding proposals and funded projects.
  • Provides work administrative direction and guidance to administrative staff personnel within the department.
  • May review contracts and develop training materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
